Level Two author Lenore Appelhans interviewed me at her website, Presenting Lenore, as part of her Dystopian August feature.
I'm sure you might be wondering why an author of a historical ghost tale was interviewed for a dystopian celebration. Instead of answering here, I'll send you over to the interview, where you'll learn about the dark, strange year of 1918, the setting for In the Shadow of Blackbirds:

Thanks Cat! Was great to learn more about your novel - I can't wait to read it!
Thanks so much for having me as a guest at your site, Lenore! It was an honor to be a part of Dystopian August!
Wow! Great interview questions, leading to fascinating answers!!! Love the historical-dystopian analogy. So fitting!
Thanks, Ara! I think the dystopian/apocalyptic sides became even more predominant after the draft you read. I definitely went much further with the dark 1918 setting.
